Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida Endorses Stephanie Vazquez for Pasco County Commission

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — The Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida has endorsed Stephanie Vazquez in her campaign for Pasco County Commission District 2, adding its support to a growing coalition backing her call for more responsible growth in Pasco.

“For families in Pasco, environmental issues are close to home,” Vazquez said. “They’re the flooding on your street after a heavy rain, the water we depend on, and the natural spaces we want our kids to grow up with. I’m grateful to the Democratic Environmental Caucus of Florida for recognizing how much these decisions matter to the people who live here.”

Vazquez has called for infrastructure to keep pace with development, stronger review of how proposed projects affect surrounding communities, and protections against growth that increases flooding downstream. She also supports conserving natural lands and giving residents a more meaningful voice before major growth decisions are made.

“If a development doesn’t make sense for the people who live here, I won’t be afraid to vote no,” Vazquez said. “Pasco can grow, but we need to be honest about the impact on our roads, drainage, water, and neighborhoods before we approve more of it.”

Vazquez is a U.S. Air Force veteran, mother of six, and candidate for Pasco County Commission District 2. The general election is November 3, 2026.
