Democratic Veterans Caucus of Florida Endorses Air Force Veteran Stephanie Vazquez for Pasco County Commission
PASCO COUNTY, Fla. — August 13, 2026 — Stephanie Vazquez, U.S. Air Force veteran and candidate for Pasco County Commission District 2, announced today that she has earned the endorsement of the Democratic Veterans Caucus of Florida (DVCF), a statewide organization dedicated to elevating veterans and veterans’ issues and electing veterans and veteran advocates to public office.
For Vazquez, the endorsement carries special meaning.
“Serving in the Air Force changed the trajectory of my life,” Vazquez said. “It taught me that leadership is about service, accountability, and understanding that the mission is bigger than any one person. Those are lessons I carried with me when I took off the uniform, and they are the same values I will bring to the Pasco County Commission.”
The Democratic Veterans Caucus of Florida is a chartered caucus of the Florida Democratic Party that advocates for veterans and their families through the political process. Its endorsement program identifies Democratic candidates who demonstrate a strong commitment to veterans and the issues affecting them.
The Caucus’ support adds to a growing coalition behind Vazquez’s campaign for new leadership in Pasco County.
“As veterans, we understand what it means to serve people from every background, every community, and every political belief,” Vazquez said. “When you put on the uniform, you don’t ask whether the person beside you is a Republican or a Democrat. You work together, you do your job, and you look out for one another. I believe we could use a lot more of that mindset in government.”
Vazquez has made A Pasco for the People the central message of her campaign, focusing on responsible growth, infrastructure, disaster preparedness, transportation, strong public schools, government transparency, and ensuring residents have a meaningful voice in the decisions affecting their communities.
She has also emphasized the importance of ensuring veterans and military families can access the services, resources, and support they have earned.
“Veterans know that service doesn’t end when you leave the military,” Vazquez said. “For me, running for County Commission is another way to serve. I’m incredibly honored that fellow veterans and veteran advocates across Florida have put their trust in me, and I intend to earn that trust every day.”
